Kaiako Engagement
Overview
Join the Teacher Workshops 2025 for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how professional theatre productions are created. This unique experience will allow teachers to attend a technical rehearsal, observe the intricate details of live theatre production, and engage in a casual, in-depth discussion with our festival’s Artistic Directors. Educators will have the chance to ask questions, reflect on what they’ve observed, and discuss how these insights can be applied in a school setting.
What to Expect
Tech Rehearsal: Gain first-hand experience by attending a live technical rehearsal for one of the festival’s key productions. Witness the collaboration between directors, designers, and technicians as they fine-tune the lighting, sound, and stage elements.
Casual Conversation: Following the rehearsal, engage in an informal conversation with our Artistic Directors, reflecting on your observations and learning more about their creative process. Teachers will have the opportunity to ask questions about directing, producing, and managing a live performance.
Meet the Directors: Depending on the production, you may also have the chance to meet the directors of the piece you observed, gaining further insights into the specific production’s vision and execution.
