Nothing fights the grey sky blues like a charming family tale and a taste of delicious curry. A Place in the Sultan’s Kitchen (or How to Make the Perfect One-Pot Chicken Curry) gives you both of these, in an awe inspiring one hour.

The Butterfly Who Flew Into The Rave
Q Theatre | 12-14 March
Skip the lines and come into Q to watch a trio of hardcore ravers jam a three day rave into 60 minutes. This is an electrifying non-stop dance performance created and performed by Oli Mathiesen accompanied by Lucy Lynch and Sharvon Mortimer. If you get tickets to Thursday or Friday night come pack at 10pm Saturday night to take part in the RAVING OVATION. An actual rave post the Saturday show (which is already sold out!).
Up and coming Aotearoa Playwrites
He Kākano Play Readings
Q Theatre | 12-15 March
Aotearoa is setting the world on fire with our young playwrites and here is your chance to see two rehearsed readings from Alex Medland and Rainton Oneroa.
Marmite and Honey by Rainton Oneroa (Te Aupōuri) is set at a tangi over 24 hours where secrets and feuds are revealed as a family gathers to farewell one of their own.
Becoming Jeff Bezos by Alex Medland (Kāi Tahu) reflects how it would feel to be confronted by extreme capitalism if you have had no contact with the outside world.
Global beats, joyful rhythms and dance-worthy grooves

Drop in, explore something new and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of the Festival Garden. Artists include Willie T, Basant Madhur Ensemble, ZORA, and The Afro Jazz Ensemble.

Helios
Concert Chamber, Auckland Town Hall | Finishes Sunday, 10am – 9.30pm - FREE
If Helios hasn’t lit up your Instagram feed, where have you been? This weekend is your last chance to view this magnificent piece of art where you can actually view and marvel at the sun.
Auckland Live have also curated some special events alongside Helios including 8.30am Saturday a Sun Healing Sound Bath and 8.30am (adults only), Sunday, 8.30am Yoga, Breathwork and Meditation for Children and Teens, more information on the Auckland Live website.
