There’s something pretty special about sharing a live performance together. The anticipation before the lights go down, the moments that surprise us, move us, make us laugh, and give us something to talk about on the way home.

At the Festival, we work closely with our accessibility partners and d/Deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, blind and low vision communities to create an accessible programme that gives more people the opportunity to experience the joy of the arts.

That might mean a touch tour before a show, exploring the set, costumes and props up close. Audio description that brings the visual elements of a performance to life. A relaxed performance that offers more flexibility. Or a free companion seat, so someone can share the experience with the support person they need. These are just some of the ways we work to make Auckland Arts Festival more accessible.

Help us raise $5,000 for our Access for All Fund

Over the next two weeks, we’re asking our Festival community to help us build on this work.

Every donation to our Access for All Fund helps us create more opportunities for people to experience live performance and be part of the Festival.

Because the joy of an incredible performance, a story that stays with you, or a night out shared with someone you love, should be something more people can experience.

How can I help?

If you believe the arts are for everyone too, we’d love your support.

Accessibility is at the heart of the Festival, and always will be. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our $5,000 goal and helps us build on this commitment and create a Festival where more people can take part.

The Arts are for Everyone.
