Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI) is looking for two male-identifying people without any dance training to become part of the cast of the Auckland Arts Festival season of its contemporary dance production Untrained.
In Untrained, two people with no dance experience have a challenge – to follow the dance steps of two very experienced and skilled dancers on the same stage. Here’s the good news – perfect moves are not the point! What matters is how the untrained match the professionals in their own entertaining way.
The two untrained people we are looking for will help create the show during rehearsals and be the star attractions when on stage. The audience won’t be looking for perfection – they’ll be watching you having a go and will applaud you for it.

AUDITION WORKSHOP
Auditions will be held on Thursday 9 December, 12pm - 4pm. The audition is in the form of a dance workshop with director/choreographer Lucy Guerin (via Zoom) and dancer Ross McCormack. Please ensure you wear comfortable loose clothing and runners. You will also be required to wear a face mask throughout your audition, and observe social distancing of 2m at all times, as well as signing in with the site specific QR code upon arriving.
The audition location will be confirmed with you once we have received your audition application.
Please note that your audition will be recorded for our future internal reference only.
