Where can I get a Festival Guide/Programme Brochure?

Our 2026 programme brochure will be distributed to our venue partners, followed shortly by all good cafés, libraries, galleries and stores around Tāmaki Makaurau from 31 Oct. Those signed up to our brochure mailing list will also start receiving their copies via postal delivery from this date.

Can I buy gift vouchers?

Unfortunately, due to ticketing arrangements with our partners, we can not offer Festival-specific vouchers at this time. You can, however, buy venue-specific vouchers directly through our partners Q Theatre, ASB Waterfront Theatre and Ticketmaster.

Everyone is welcome at the Festival, and every year we offer a range of family-friendly events. However, some events may not be suitable for children under 3 and others come with an age recommendations and/or a content advisory. What is the history of the Festival?

The Festival has a rich history dating back to 1948. It became a biannual event in 2003 and has been an annual fixture on the Auckland event calendar since 2015. Learn more about past festivals here.

How can I submit work for consideration?

Participation in the Festival as an artist or artistic company — whether local or international, emerging or established is by invitation. You can make your work known to our Artistic Director and Kaihautu Māori (for works and ideas of kaupapa Māori, kaupapa Pasifika and Indigenous origin) for future consideration here.
